Some of you may have read this Washington Times article. Now it seems Alzheimer's has no age limits. It seems to me that in eighteen years Ashton has already faced more hardships than anyone should have to face in a lifetime. Ashton and her Mother will be in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

This is shocking...and it makes me wonder; since it is so very rare to happen to a person this young, AND this person has Downs Syndrome, could there be some sort of connection? A gene, that links to a gene, that links to a gene. I guess what I'm trying to say is, does Ashton have something unique in her Downs Syndrome that is also unique to my mother or your wife?
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to make a quilt out of old cloths from a loved one. Thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteGood question. I hope some of our elected officials read the article and wonder about that too. It could cause them to see how important it is to pass both S. 1942 and H.R. 3286 the Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act of 2009.
Karen,
I thought it was great. Our friend gave her Son something that will help him remember his Dad on cold winter nights. It can be handed down to future generations as a piece of family history.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
It is hard enough on a family to deal with a parent with this disease but a child. I could not handle it. God bless them.
